DELAIN Parts Ways With Guitarist

According to Metalrage, DELAIN — the Dutch gothic rock project founded by ex-WITHIN TEMPTATION keyboardist Martijn Westerholt (brother of WITHIN TEMPTATION's Robert Westerholt) — has parted ways with guitarist Ray van Lente. No further information is currently available.

DELAIN released a new single, "See Me in Shadow", in the Netherlands on July 23. In addition to the title cut, the single includes three special acoustic versions.

DELAIN's video for "See Me in Shadow" is available for viewing on YouTube. The song is the second single from DELAIN's debut album, "Lucidity", which came out last year. The clip for "See Me in Shadow" was shot on May 8 "in a very special country cottage in Brabant, Holland," according to a posting on the group's web site.

"Lucidity" has sold more than 6,000 copies in Holland. In addition to Martijn Westerholt and Charlotte Wessels (vocals),the CD features guest appearances by the following musicians:

"Lucidity" contains some interesting duets: Liv Kristine sings with Marco Hietala on "Day For Ghosts" and with Charlotte on "See Me In Shadow". Sharon den Adel's distinctive voice is a great counterpart to Marco's intense vocals on "No Compliance", whereas the heavy grunts of George Oosthoek combine very well with Charlotte's peaceful voice on a number of other tracks.
